Une dizaine de LST (dont les 262 et 310) ont été échoués pour une marée sur la plage pour débarquer rapidement cette grande unité, au risque de voir des LST casser leur quille sur une plage qui est très déformée naturellement par les bancs de sable et les chenaux. Finalement tout s'est bien passé, mais les capitaines étaient sûrement inquiets.
